Online and Social Media Safety Event

As social media becomes more and more an integral part of our daily lives, especially for teenagers, we want to provide our 5th-8th graders and their parents with some timely and informative information about online safety and responsible social media usage among our students.

On Tuesday, April 30, Sheboygan Christian School will be hosting a special presentation for our 5th-8th grade students and their parents. Detective Brandon Kehoe from the Sheboygan Police Department will be sharing stories and information about how social media has had an impact on teenagers.  In today’s digital age, it is more important than ever for young people to understand the potential risks and responsibilities associated with social media use.  We have organized this presentation to provide valuable insights and guidance on various aspects of online safety.

Following the presentation, our Student Services Team will share various resources, offer suggestions, and provide recommendations for parents and guardians.  We believe that events like these play a crucial role in equipping our students with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions online and stay safe in an increasingly digital world. We highly encourage parents, guardians, and students to attend this presentation.

We also encourage parents to engage in conversations with their children about the topics covered in the presentation and reinforce the importance of responsible online behavior at home.  Thank you for your continued support in promoting a safe and positive learning environment for our students.  We look forward to your participation in this valuable event!
