Monday Morning Routine

Every Monday morning, after classroom devotions, our elementary school starts the week off with the Pledge of Allegiance and the “Look Like Christ” awards.

The Pledge is read over the loudspeaker by a featured student to every elementary school classroom. Then the “Look Like Christ” awards are read aloud to encourage students who have demonstrated Christ-like character in the previous week. Students are nominated for these “LLC” awards by their teachers who observe exemplary student actions that the teachers want to encourage in all of our students.

Students who have names called out meet in the commons to select their choice of student rewards, which include fun activities like:

• Book Read-along- read a book with a Kindergartener
• Show and Tell
• Lunch Buddies- pick who you get to sit next to
• Sit in the teacher’s chair for the day
• Visit Mrs. Steenwyk during lunch
